It's time for some new improvements in Huaxu, and I hope you'll be as excited that Huaxu is actually getting new features again. Turns out taking a holiday and then nerd-sniping myself into developing Huaxu things works surprisingly well.

Sadly, the holiday is over ¹, but at least I can leave you with a bunch of new improvements (and a little teaser at the end).

Search 2.0

Search is the headline feature this time.

Boring I know, but while you could already search for players, it turns out many of you ² had trouble finding specific story beats. I'm happy to announce that Huaxu now has full-text search across all story dialogue in the game.

Story Reader Improvements

To go along with actually being able to find the story you want, I've also made the story reader a bit nicer to use.

No longer will you have to click every image just to view it! ³ They'll now just show inline, like they always should've been.

Buttons have received a small glow-up, and small versions of the speaker portraits are now visible inline, without having to hover over names (though hovering will still summon the larger version, of course).

There were also some story elements that weren't showing up in Huaxu before, and overlays now properly render instead of being shown separately.

Shops

Huaxu now shows items from all shops that exist within the game, live (as you've come to expect from Huaxu).

Do note that this really does mean all shops, and for now that includes a few shops that Kuro probably didn't quite intend for you to see.

Rainbow card shops are included too! They'll even show the BC value contained within each pack, much like Kirai's Pack Sheet, from which I stole the idea.

Final bits

I've also given the Huaxu landing page a bit of a refresh. It now includes the new story chapters for the patch, timers, and a big search bar (you can't miss it).

And last but not least, here's a little preview of something I've also been cooking in the background (though it's still far from shippable).
