Selena Wishing Upon a Star

>

The moon rises above the horizon, and stars fill the sky. A cool night breeze rustles through the trees lining the streets of Constellia.

A long-haired girl stands quietly beneath the bamboo shadows, holding a pale blue letter. She turns to look at you under the moonlight, her hair flowing like silk in the wind, carrying a faint scent of iris.

Here you are, [player name].

She gives you a gentle smile and sets the letter down next to the calligraphy brush.

No need to apologize. You're here... That's all that matters.

Conductor, we still have three hours to make wishes for the Double Seventh Festival. Do you have any wish you'd like to tell the Weaver Girl?

Only now do you notice the wooden table in front of Selena, piled with colorful wish notes written in elegant handwriting.

Oh, these? They're just some lines I wrote while practicing.

Or... would you like to read some, Conductor?

Then... please forgive my humble attempt.

With flushed cheeks, she picks up one of the notes and takes a small breath.

Selena

Autumn winds rise as night grows deep,

I bow to scoop the starry stream,

Beneath the Magpie Bridge, waves ripple free,

Here I stand, awaiting thee.

She nervously puts the paper down and looks your way expectantly.

What do you think, Conductor?

No, this one's just practice.

What I really want to hang up there... is a wish written together with you, Conductor.

She lowers her head slightly, silky hair hiding half of her flushed face.

Legend says that on the Double Seventh Festival, if you hang your wish on bamboo, magpies will carry it to the Weaver Girl.

The Weaver Girl picks the wish hung highest on the tree and grants it that same night.

But I don't need the Weaver Girl to actually grant any wish. I just want to create this memory with you, Conductor.

Selena takes your hand, and together you gaze up through the gaps between bamboo leaves at the endless starry sky above.

Having you here, celebrating with me...

That's already enough.

Do you mean...

Her temperature rises slightly, and her heartbeat quickens, betraying the emotions stirring within her M.I.N.D.

But Selena simply tightens her grip on your hand.

You've already made time for me, Conductor. I don't want to tire you out.

Well... I do have one wish I'd like your help with.

Gathering courage, she picks up a long silk ribbon from the table.

There's a legend: on the Double Seventh Festival, two people write a hundred wishes on a silk ribbon and hang it high in a tree. After that, the Weaver Girl grants them one wish every year.

Could I invite you, Conductor, to write those hundred wishes together with me?

With a gentle smile, she hands you the smooth ribbon.

If you don't have anything specific, we could just dream about the future.

About having each other... far into the future.

She speaks earnestly, her words filled with deep longing.

We can imagine the life we'll share, the dreams we'll fulfill.

Far into the future, after the war, maybe even after we've moved back to Earth... We'll still be together, making plans, just like today.

Just imagining being with you makes me happy.

Mm...

She silently embraces you, no more words needed. You understand everything she's feeling.

The summer breeze blows gently, carrying the distant sounds of fireworks.

Fireworks burst like a kaleidoscope in the night sky over Constellia.

For a brief, brilliant second, the light lights up Selena's profile, and at that moment, it feels as if time stood still.

You feel her gently responding with an embrace around your waist.

It's so beautiful...

I'll remember this moment forever.

In the future... let's create many more memories like this together.

Her smile shines brightly under the fireworks.

My first and only... Conductor.
