Ayla Lingering Stars

>

The shop door swings open, ushering in a flurry of chatter.

Miss Ayla? Look, it's Miss Ayla!

Ayla... Could it be the Ayla who topped the "Monthly King ART"" popularity polls for ten months straight, the original creator and lead artist of ""Beautiful Angel ENDLESS"?

Didn't you hear? There's a signing event with Miss Ayla today! I traveled all the way from the new conservation area just to see her in person!

Weird... I always thought my main audience was kids...

Haha, maybe you should start calling me that too, Commandant?

To "Red Comet Masha"...? Alright, signed. Make sure to let the ink dry.

Hmm—finally signed the last one. It was more tiring than I expected.

Ayla gives her wrist a shake, closes her eyes, and lets out a stretch.

Haha, gotta admit, I was a bit surprised myself. Didn't realize I'd already published so many volumes.

It's not that crazy. Some people just love the hype.

Oh, by the way, I've got a special edition lined up for you, Commandant. Heard you're all hooked on the "Monthly King ART" series, right?

It's a special story I drew specifically for this event.

Bringing back characters from past stories, the ones who, well, didn't make it, and those who vanished. All of them just hanging out, enjoying some carefree fun.

A story that couldn't really happen, but I figured everyone secretly wished it could, so I made it a reality.

Even though it started as pure fan service, I actually had a blast drawing it.

It even got me thinking... maybe I shouldn't have been so quick to bump off a certain character or two...

Not really, I started creating to please myself, you know?

But once I realized my stuff needed to be shared, I figured why make people cry over a story when I can offer them a break from their real-world troubles, even if it's just for a little while.

Beautiful Angel ENDLESS was clearly made for this very purpose.

Some "professionals" might scoff, but who cares? I don't.

You pull out the prepared comic.

This is...

Looking back, it's definitely got its cringe moments...

The storyboard's chaotic, the dialogue rough, and the characters are more sketches than anything, lacking that comic book feel...

No wonder it wasn't widely loved.

Haha, you got it.

Consider this a special token of appreciation for my biggest fan.

She signs the comic, but with a completely different font than the one she used at the signing event.

This special "Ayla"" is just for the most special ""you."
