Rosetta Lingering Stars

>

Phew...

Rosetta stands outside the shop, a grim determination etched on her face.

Commandant, it's time.

I don't say this often, and usually, when I do, it's trouble...

But this time, I'm determined to win.

With a deep breath, Rosetta pushes open the shop's door.

Sir, I want to get the latest commemorative booster pack.

Understood. How many packs do you want, or do you prefer a whole booster box?

Ten boxes.

Please, ten boxes.

As Rosetta announces this ambitious number, all eyes in the shop turn toward her.

As the owner lays out ten boxes worth of booster packs, you realize Rosetta wasn't kidding.

A box contains six packs, each with fifteen cards... Looks like we'll be opening packs for a while.

Don't worry. The Engineering Force pays us regularly.

It'll take a long time if I do it alone. Commandant, could you help me out?

Thank you, Commandant.

And so, side by side at the card shop's table, Rosetta and you embark on this grand project.

Still no luck.

With a hint of disappointment, Rosetta opens the card pack and swiftly flips through the cards inside.

"Infinite Illusion", "Blue Reboot", a redrawn "White Blossom & Joyous Spring"... We got a lot of useful cards, so it's not a total loss...

Yes, it's made with the latest technology. They say only one is included in every five boxes, and it won't be reprinted.

No, it was released early on and has no practical value now.

Not really... Though it's unique, it might not even cost a hundred Black Cards.

I just... really, really want that card.

My first dive into this game was in the ARU, back when I was fresh in the Forest Guard and not quite part of the group yet.

I was a lone wolf until someone finally asked me to play together.

The ace of the deck they helped me build was that card.

It's more than just a card; it's a symbol of—

Rosetta

Indeed.

But luck just wasn't on my side this time.

Ten boxes of card packs later, and here you are, down to the last one, still no luck finding it.

This is the last pack. Probably won't get it...

Rosetta resigns as she reaches for the scissors. But I intervene, gently taking the last pack from her hands.

Commandant?

It feels a bit like I'm fooling myself...

But holding onto this glimmer of hope isn't such a bad thing, after all.

You glance at the mountain of cards before us.

Do you want to play, Commandant?

No worries, I'll teach you.

Rosetta assures you with a smile as bright as a campfire under a winter sky.

The day is still young.
