W-why is there a stage lift here?!
You recall seeing flowers or balloons somehow appearing in old movies when people triumph over hardships and reunite on a date...
Perhaps that is what the stage lift is for?

Karenina has already pried open the floor to study the lift underneath as you speak.
It's a problem with the relay. It's probably been a while since its last maintenance, but this is an easy fix...
